All our Motability specialists undergo extensive professional training to provide the excellent service and you they need to select, maintain and return your Motability vehicle at the end of its lease.
Of course, your customer experience with one of our specialists is what matters most to us, so it’s important we get it right. This guide was designed to explain everything you can expect from a visit to your local TrustFord dealership. We’ll explain some of the customer training our specialists go through, as well as the measures we have in place to make our dealerships a safe and comfortable environment.
Our dedicated team of Motability Specialists are here to help with any concerns you may have. Each specialist has taken disability awareness training and is able to support all your needs. They’ll talk you through everything about the scheme and how it works, without any pressure to buy.
"Our primary motivation is to make a difference to people's lives," explains Carlos Camacho, Group Motability Manager for TrustFord. "We want to go above and beyond for Motability customers, their families and carers."
At TrustFord, no question is too small and it doesn’t matter if you aren’t sure about the type of car you’re looking for yet. Our award-winning team of specialists will be able to answer anything you want to know about any vehicle in our fleet, and will be able to guide you through all the different models that are available to you.
Our top priority is making sure that our customers are as comfortable as possible with any of the choices they make. Our personalised service helps create a motor package that is unique to your lifestyle. Before we find you the best fit, we’ll talk openly and sensitively about your specific Motability circumstances. If you require adaptations, such as a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV), this can also be arranged.
If you’re thinking about making a trip to your local TrustFord branch, you’ll be greeted with a warm welcome from a friendly face, who you can always rely on to offer you a tea or coffee!
All of our sites are open to assistance dogs, have disabled parking and are also wheelchair accessible, making them as welcoming an environment as possible. Still, if you’re not comfortable or unable to get to a branch, you can still get in contact with a Motability specialist at your nearest dealership. They will be able to assist you with any advice remotely, or can even arrange for a home visit.
We’ve always taken every precaution to make sure services at our branches are safe and hygienic. After the outbreak of COVID-19 in early 2020, we knew we had to bring in further measures still. We make sure to follow all government guidelines, so where required we can implement social distancing measures in place such as one-way systems, sanitising stations and PPE. We also advise that you book an appointment with one of our specialists.
Our Motability specialists are continually driving standards of customer care forward. In 2018, TrustFord became the first automotive company to take part in the Autism Hour initiative. Autism Hour aims to make local dealerships as accessible as possible for people with autism, as well as raise awareness of the disability and its requirements.
In the UK, around 700,000 people are on the autistic spectrum. Autism is a developmental disorder that changes the way a person experiences the world around them. In some instances, that might result in difficulty communicating, or finding public areas too bright, loud and overwhelming. Research from the Autistic Society shows that 64% of autistic people and their families avoid going out to the shops, which can make everyday life difficult and even isolating.
"I know the challenges that come with living with a disability, and caring for someone too," explains Carlos. "I have AS (ankylosing spondylitis), while my son is autistic. If someone goes out of their way to do something for my son, that means the world to me – however simple that action may be."
To make retail a more inclusive environment, Autism Hour at TrustFord aims to help by adapting our dealerships to be more autism-friendly. By turning down the noise from music or announcements, dimming the lights and providing specialists with autism communication training, we strive to make our dealerships more accessible.
Autism Hour training has been taken by everyone at TrustFord – not just our Motability specialists. Our team is fully trained in the best practices of both behavioural and verbal communication for people with autism. We understand that being able to get out and about is important, so we aim to make our dealerships as welcoming an environment as possible, and to all who visit us.
Autism Hour takes place from 10-11am every Thursday across all TrustFord dealerships in mainland UK and Northern Ireland.
