The Exciting Ford New Car Model Range
The Ford New Van Model Range
With a sophisticated new look, comprehensively updated interior, and more advanced technology than ever before, Transit Connect has evolved.
The trademark Transit toughness, durability and functionality still remain, in features including an ingenious load-through bulkhead and flexible front passenger seating. With short and long wheelbase options providing load volumes up to 3.6m³ (VDA), payload capacity of up to 913 kg, and bodystyles including van and double-cab-in-van. But this is now an exceptionally sophisticated medium van equipped with valuable drive-assist technologies many of which are not available in cars today. Others help keep drivers connected, hands-free; to help them control and monitor their speed; and even to help protect pedestrians in their path.
Technology has also improved fuel economy and lowered emissions.
Key Features
Our 75 PS, 100 PS, and 120 PS TDCi diesel engines impress with their refined power and superb efficiency. Whether your Transit Connect Van is on town or city roads or long drives on the motorway, their smooth torque delivery is invaluable on inclines or when overtaking.
Whether the signs are at the side of the road or above it, permanent or temporary, Traffic Sign Recognition can identify them. An icon of that speed or a no-overtaking sign appears on the Transit Connect Van instrument cluster and changes every time it detects you entering a new limit.
Active Park Assist can steer you into parallel or perpendicular parking spaces. Simply push a button and the sensors of this innovative system locate a suitable space as you drive past. Then it automatically steers in your Transit Connect Van. All you do is operate the accelerator, gears and brake (following on-screen instructions and audible signals). It will pull out a parallel spaces as well.
Pre-Collision Assist detects vehicles and pedestrains in the road ahead, or who could cross your van's path, and warns you of their presence. If you don't respond, the system automatically applies the brakes. This technology is designed to help reduce the severity of accidents, or help avoid them altogether, and functions at speeds of up to 80 km/h (50 mph).
Carry items up to 3.0 metres in length in the L1 van, thanks to the clever optional load-through bulkhead*. L2 models are capable of holding 3.4 metre long items.Load-through bulkhead is an optional extra on some series when selecting Dual Passenger seat packs.
HVO is based on waste oils, it's a form of renewable parafinnic diesel fuel produced from a wide variety of raw materials including waste cooking oil using conventional oil refinement processes.
