Charging your Electric Car

Explore the charging solutions available when you own a hybrid or electric Ford.

If you're in the market for a new Ford electric car or van and are exploring charging options, you might be interested to know the available solutions.

With the BlueOval™ Charging Network, which grants access to over 300,000 public charging stations, along with home and business charging solutions, keeping your Ford charged is convenient and hassle-free.

Take advantage of the FordPass app, allowing you to connect your vehicle to your smartphone. Manage public charging payments, plan trips, and schedule charging cycles—all conveniently consolidated in one place, making ownership of a plug-in vehicle even more seamless.

Charging your car at home

For home charging of your electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle, you have two options. The simpler method involves using a 3-pin domestic socket, but keep in mind that charging times can be quite lengthy with this approach. However, if time is of the essence, we recommend opting for a home charging point like the Ford Wallbox.

The Ford Wallbox is a dedicated charging station installed on the exterior of your house, enabling you to charge your vehicle up to five times faster than with a 3-pin socket. It stands out as the quickest home charging solution available and can be integrated with FordPass applications, providing you with enhanced control.

Public charging

As part of the expanding BlueOval™ charge network, we've got your charging needs covered when you're on the go with your hybrid or electric Ford. With charging points strategically located at popular spots like supermarkets, shopping centers, and public car parks, you're never too far from one of the 300,000 BlueOval™ charging points spread across Europe. The BlueOval™ network seamlessly integrates with your FordPass or FordPass Pro mobile application, streamlining the process of finding, managing, and paying for charging.

These charging points offer varying speeds, including a network of IONITY high-power chargers reaching up to 350kW. The faster the charger, the shorter the wait time for your car to recharge. For instance, a Ford Mustang Mach-E can go from 10 to 80 percent charged in as little as 90 minutes when using a 50kW DC charging station.

What affects Electric vehicle range?

The Weather
To keep the battery at optimal operating temperatures, your EV range may be reduced when it's noticeably hot or cold outside.

Load Weight
The more weight you're carrying, the lower your EV range, as your vehicle is having to work harder to get you moving.

Driving Style
The way you drive can be a major factor when it comes to EV range, a smooth driving style will see you get the most out of a charge.

Energy Usage
If you're constantly using air conditioning and other gadgets, your overall range may be reduced as it draws more energy from the battery.
